As parents ourselves, we know how important it is to be cautious when it comes to your child’s online privacy. This is why we take every effort to collect only the data we need for Good Guy to give your child the best playtime and bedtime he can.

We use this data to provide you with tech support and to notify you of new Good Guy features. Take a look at our Privacy Policy to see how we use your information.

What do you use my phone permissions for?

Permission How We Use It
Location We use this to pinpoint your time zone and set the proper bedtime schedule.
Bluetooth We use this to connect your Good Guy to your phone. This is the only way to send and receive commands.
Wifi Good Guy uses this to receive bedtime routine changes and software updates.
Camera This is an optional feature we use to add a profile photo to your account. The photo is stored on your phone and is not sent to our servers or shared with other account members.
Files If you decide to use a profile photo, we need permission to store the photo on your device.

What data does Good Guy collect? How is it used?

We’ll never collect data without a purpose. Here are the reasons we collect your data from Good Guy:

Voice Files Uploading voice files helps your Good Guy better recognize your family’s voices and helps us improve Good Guy’s ability to understand you.
Environmental Data Is your child’s room too loud? Too warm? Environmental data helps us check the conditions of your child’s sleep environment and provide insights on how to improve it for the best night’s rest.
Good Guy Routines This helps us see which routines you use or skip. Providing this information helps us improve your Good Guy over time.
Good Guy Health Knowing your Good Guy’s performance lets our Customer Support team troubleshoot if something goes wrong.

Care and Maintenance

Like all toys, your Good Guy will need occasional care and cleaning.

How do I clean my Good Guy?

For small cleaning jobs: You can clean your Good Guy’s skin with a cloth, dampened with warm water and dish soap.

For big messes: If your Good Guy gets covered in gunk, his skin can be stretched and peeled from the back. Once peeled, you can clean the skin with warm water and dish soap. Good Guy’s clothes are machine washable and can be dried in a tumble dryer.

How do I maintain my Good Guy?

Your Good Guy will receive regular updates to increase security, add new playtime content, and improve his performance. You’ll see a notification in the dashboard of your Good Guy Companion App if there is an update available. To update from the app:

  1. Ensure your Good Guy is connected to a power supply. Your mobile device and your Good Guy will also need to be connected to the same WiFi network.
  2. Expand the navigation app and tap Devices.
  3. Tap the Good Guy you wish to update.
  4. Tap Check For Updates
  5. Tap Update Now to initialize.

Your child’s Good Guy will say, “hang on, I’m getting an update!” to let you and your child know that his software is updating. He will not be able to play until the update is complete.

Something went wrong with my Good Guy. How do I get help?

If your Good Guy has any hardware issues, Reach out to our support team. For safety reasons, Good Guy cannot be disassembled or taken apart. This will void your warranty and potentially permanently damage your Good Guy.

Warning

If any of the following occurs:

  • The Good Guy moves on its own or speaks without direction, even when the power switch is set to the OFF position
  • Your child mentions their Good Guy saying inappropriate or threatening things
  • You or your child become persons of interest in a homicide investigation, or your child mentions the name “Charles Lee Ray”

Keep all sharp objects out of your Good Guy’s reach. Place your Good Guy in an airtight container, locked and unable to open from the inside. Evacuate your home, then immediately Reach out to our support team. We will provide you with some forms and collect the doll.

Do not attempt to disassemble or destroy your Good Guy. That will only him angry.
